6 oz Trigger size (170g ) - Cleans smoke detectors on site. For use with open delivery equipment systems.
Bring DUSTAIR™ within 3 - 6 inches (18 - 25cm) of the smoke detector while pressing the can's valve. Hold the can steady and do not shake it, otherwise the compressed gas will become a mist, causing it to lose its effectiveness. Spray the detector, then rotate DUSTAIR™ around the detector 90° and spray for an additional 2 to 3 seconds. Repeat spraying sequence until all four 90° quadrants have been sprayed. This will remove dust, line, and other foreign matter from the detector's housing / screen.
Note:
The can will begin to cool after 4 - 6 of these 2 - 3 second bursts, and there will be a corresponding drop in efficiency. Therefore, if any number of smoke detectors need to be cleaned, you should have 3 cans of DUSTAIR™ to alternate, allowing the idle cans to warm to normal. Running warm water on the cans (or
even body heat) will accelerate the process.
When using Extension Devices, snap can into place and rest bottom of the can on Clamp (DC-98). This clamp properly positions and holds DustAir in its place.
